President Trump to visit Asheville, NC, California, and Nevada

President Donald Trump is set to embark on his first trip since his second term inauguration, visiting areas of the country devastated by natural disasters. His first stop will be in western North Carolina, where Hurricane Helene caused extensive damage last year. He will then travel to southern California, where wildfires have wreaked havoc, and later end the day in Nevada for a campaign-style rally in Las Vegas.

In Washington, Trump will address the 52nd annual March for Life rally against abortion via video, while Vice President JD Vance and other political leaders will speak at the event. Additionally, the Senate is expected to hold a final confirmation vote for Pete Hegseth, Trump’s nominee to lead the Pentagon.

North Carolina Governor Josh Stein is slated to meet Trump on the tarmac of Asheville Regional Airport during the visit to the hurricane-ravaged region. Stein has expressed optimism about Trump’s visit benefiting the residents affected by the storm.

Meanwhile, a federal judge in Seattle has blocked Trump’s executive order curtailing birthright citizenship, calling it “blatantly unconstitutional.” The Senate also confirmed John Ratcliffe as the CIA director with a bipartisan vote.

Overall, Trump’s schedule for the day includes visits to disaster-stricken areas, political events, and official duties both in person and via video.
