A 33-year-old man from Boston, Alan Badgett, was arrested on Wednesday after allegedly waving an axe around and threatening security at a Whole Foods Market in Charlestown. Badgett was charged with armed robbery and arraigned in Boston Municipal Court – Charlestown. Police received a report of a man waving an axe and bottle in the air at the market, claiming he could “take whatever he wanted.” Badgett was also accused of stealing juice and water bottles from the store. Officers were able to de-escalate the situation and found an axe during a pat frisk. Badgett was held on a $500 cash bail following the incident.
