Anut, a new Cairo-based brand offering home goods inspired by ancient Egyptian crafts, recently celebrated its launch with a decadent costume party at the Egyptian Museum. The brand, founded by Goya Gallagher and creatively directed by Cruz Maria Wyndham, aims to support local artisans and rising Egyptian talents. The party, themed “offerings” in reference to ancient Egyptian rituals, featured elaborate décor by Laila Gohar, traditional Egyptian cuisine catered by Zooba, bespoke cocktails, and lively music by D.J. Jade Croo. The event attracted a mix of guests, including Egyptian environmentalist Mounir Neamatalla and Egyptologist Salima Ikram, who were impressed by the celebration of Egyptian cultural heritage in such an iconic setting. The evening’s dress code, “Theatrical Ancient Egypt,” inspired creative and extravagant outfits, adding to the festive atmosphere. Anut’s commitment to supporting local artisans and showcasing Egyptian craftsmanship was evident throughout the event, from the unique decorations to the traditional dishes served. The party not only marked the brand’s official launch but also served as a celebration of Egyptian culture and creativity, drawing praise from guests for its innovative approach to blending the past with the present.
