Clare Leslie Hall’s debut novel, “Broken Country,” draws inspiration from the classic movie “The Go-Between” with a story of forbidden romance in the English countryside.
“Chloe” by Connie Briscoe offers a new twist on the Gothic classic “Rebecca,” set in an exclusive Black enclave on Martha’s Vineyard. “The Mesopotamian Riddle” by Joshua Hammer explores the race to decipher the world’s oldest writing, promising a mix of history and adventure.
Lastly, Jesse Q. Sutanto’s “Vera Wong’s Guide to Snooping (on a Dead Man)” continues the story of the San Francisco sleuth as she investigates the death of a social media influencer. The month of March seems to be a great time to delve into these new mysteries and thrillers.
