Illegal Alien Sentenced for Raping Daughter at Massachusetts Shelter
Marlborough, MA – Ronald Joseph, a 44-year-old Haitian national, has been sentenced to 12-15 years in prison after pleading guilty to aggravated rape of his 14-year-old daughter while residing in a government-run migrant shelter. The incidents occurred between 2023 and 2024, culminating in the girl’s pregnancy. Joseph was arrested on January 31, 2025, and charged with aggravated rape of a child.
The Middlesex District Attorney’s office reported that an ultrasound confirmed the timing of conception coinciding with the period Joseph and his daughter lived together at the shelter. Genetic testing further established a staggering 23 trillion-to-one probability of Joseph being the biological father of the child.
U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has since filed an immigration detainer against Joseph, who entered the U.S. illegally in May 2023. An extensive investigation revealed troubling patterns of violence and criminal behavior occurring within state-funded shelters.
Jon Fetherston, the former director of the Marlborough shelter, noted that after confronting Joseph about the allegations, the migrant became aggressive. Instead of immediate arrest, authorities directed Joseph to a different shelter, raising concerns about the management of such facilities. Fetherston characterized the incident as indicative of a larger issue within Massachusetts’ shelter system, commenting on the frequent and serious crimes reported, including drug trafficking and violence.
Despite claims that the need for such shelters is declining, critics like Fetherston argue that the state has failed to adequately address safety and accountability. The Massachusetts government plans to close 32 shelters this summer, spurring skepticism about the well-being of unvetted migrants.
The situation continues to spark debate around immigration policies and the management of state-funded facilities in Massachusetts.
