Daily Provisions Opens Coveted First Massachusetts Location in Harvard Square
CAMBRIDGE, MA – Daily Provisions, the beloved all-day cafe chain from New York City, made its Massachusetts debut in Harvard Square on July 21. The opening marks an expansion into New England for Union Square Hospitality Group, which operates several popular locations throughout New York City and beyond.
CEO Chip Wade expressed enthusiasm about joining Boston’s vibrant restaurant scene. “We’ve always admired Boston’s thriving and inclusive restaurant community. Its proximity to New York made it a natural next step for us,” he stated. He added that the city’s welcoming neighborhoods create a fitting environment for Daily Provisions.
Daily Provisions offers an all-day menu featuring breakfast delights, lunch offerings, and dinner entrees. Guests can indulge in seasonal crullers and acclaimed breakfast sandwiches. The cafe has earned accolades, including "The Absolute Best Egg Sandwich in New York" and recognition in Grub Street’s breakfast guide.
Executive Culinary Director Chef Claudia Fleming emphasized the cafe’s commitment to creating enjoyable and memorable dishes. “We’re inspired by food people want to eat every day, crafted with quality ingredients and classic techniques,” she noted.
In the afternoon, menu highlights include made-to-order sandwiches like the innovative tuna salad with kalamata olive tapenade, arugula, and toasted sourdough, alongside the Chefy Salad filled with marinated white beans, cucumbers, and a jammy egg. The sought-after Roast Chicken, served with seasonal sides, is a dinner favorite.
The Cambridge location, situated at 1 Brattle Square, also offers catering services and plans to open another site in Boston’s Seaport by 2026. “We’re thrilled to be part of this storied neighborhood,” said President Zach Koff, emphasizing Daily Provisions’ mission to create a homey atmosphere for the community.
