Cradle of Filth Faces Abrupt Lineup Change Mid-Tour
In a surprising turn of events, British extreme metal band Cradle of Filth announced the immediate departure of keyboardist and co-vocalist Zoe Smerda during their South American tour. The news was shared via an Instagram post on August 24, where the band expressed their support for Smerda, stating they will continue the tour with replacement vocalist Kelsey Peters, a member of their crew.
Smerda cited “personal reasons” for her exit, asking for privacy and urging fans to treat her successor kindly. She denied rumors surrounding her departure, including claims about issues in her marriage to bandmate Marek "Ashok" Šmerda, affirming their love and commitment to each other.
As Cradle of Filth prepares for the next leg of “The Screaming Of The Americas” concerts, they remain focused on delivering performances for their fans without distraction. The band, formed in 1991, has navigated numerous lineup changes and remains active in the metal scene with 14 studio albums to their name, including the chart-topping "Godspeed On The Devil’s Thunder." The band’s resilience amidst turmoil demonstrates their commitment to their music and fan base.
