Police officer in North End hit while assisting visually impaired resident to avoid oncoming truck


A Boston police officer was seriously injured after being struck by a construction truck in the North End while assisting a blind man cross the street. The officer, who remains unidentified, was hit by the back gate of the truck, knocking him to the ground.
