Vice President Kamala Harris is set to meet with at least three finalists to serve as her running mate before making an imminent announcement. The finalists include Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, and Sen. Mark Kelly of Arizona. The meetings are being described as a “chemistry test” to determine compatibility. Other possible candidates for the position include Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear, and Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker. The vetting process is being led by the law firm of former Attorney General Eric Holder. A decision on Harris’ vice presidential nominee is expected by Tuesday, with plans for a campaign rally in Philadelphia with the chosen candidate. Supporters will be notified of the decision via text message, as Biden had done with the announcement of Harris as his running mate. Harris’ campaign urges supporters to sign up to be among the first to learn about her VP pick.
