Boston man charged with stabbing man during motorcycle theft and beating girlfriend’s dog

A 31-year-old man from Boston, Abram Acevedo, is facing a dangerousness hearing after being accused of stabbing a man multiple times during a motorcycle theft attempt and later beating his girlfriend’s small dog against a wall. Suffolk District Attorney Kevin Hayden emphasized the seriousness of the situation, stating that dangerousness hearings are requested when an individual poses an imminent threat to the community.

Acevedo was charged with attempted murder, witness intimidation, and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon following the two incidents. The first incident occurred on June 24 when a man was found with multiple stab wounds after being attacked while a motorcycle theft was in progress. The second incident involved Acevedo allegedly beating his girlfriend’s dog against a wall and threatening her with a broom.

The girlfriend reported that Acevedo had been violent in the past, threatening her and even attempting to bite her face. She also mentioned that Acevedo had done “something bad on Centre Street last week,” indicating a pattern of aggression.

Acevedo was ordered to be held without bail pending the dangerousness hearing by Judge Steven Kim. While the injuries sustained by the victims in these incidents were non-life threatening, the psychological trauma caused by the attacks is a concern for the authorities. The hearing is scheduled for Wednesday morning to determine the next steps in Acevedo’s case.
