The duo’s optimistic message was well-received by the crowd, with Senator Harris emphasizing Walz’s ability to make people feel they belong and inspire big dreams. Walz, in turn, criticized the Republican ticket, calling them the “JV squad” compared to the Democrats’ “varsity team”. Despite some disappointment from those who favored other potential running mates for Harris, including Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro, Democrats at the rally stood firmly behind the announced ticket of Harris and Walz.
