The CIA and Qatar’s State Security Agency have not yet issued a formal statement regarding the award. Qatar and the US have a longstanding relationship, with the US Air Force base at Al-Udeid located in Qatar. George Tenet, the former CIA chief for eight years, is known for his involvement in military invasions in Afghanistan and Iraq under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.
The award highlights the importance of intelligence cooperation between Qatar and the US in ensuring regional security and stability.
