Roger A. Cook, the owner of K&R Tree and Landscape Company in Burlington, and a well-known cast member of This Old House, passed away at the age of 70 after battling an extended illness. Born in Biddeford, Maine, he founded his landscaping business in 1982 with his wife, Kathy, and worked tirelessly to build it over the years. Despite his success, Roger remained humble and dedicated to his craft, earning respect from his peers and viewers alike.
His journey with This Old House began in 1982, eventually becoming a full-time cast member and receiving an Emmy Award for lifetime achievement in 2022. Roger was known for his down-to-earth nature, giving great advice, and always staying true to himself. He was actively involved in various organizations related to landscaping and was respected in his field.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Roger was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family first. He instilled good values and a strong work ethic in his children and took pride in watching his grandchildren grow. Roger Cook leaves behind a lasting legacy in both his professional and personal life. Visitation will be held at the Edward V. Sullivan Funeral Home in Burlington, with other services held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family requests planting a tree in the community to honor Roger’s environmental legacy. He will be deeply missed by his children, grandchildren, family, and friends, who remember him not for his achievements, but for the kind-hearted and humble person he was.
