With the general election just over 60 days away, former President Donald Trump’s campaign is determined to win New Hampshire, despite rumors suggesting otherwise. National Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, a Granite State native, emphasized that Trump’s team believes they can secure victory in the state this year. Leavitt pointed out that Vice President Kamala Harris’ recent visit to New Hampshire indicates that the opposition recognizes it as Trump country.
The campaign pushed back on reports that they have given up on New Hampshire, citing the commitment to the state evidenced by the operation of their Manchester headquarters and the active engagement of volunteers. Leavitt highlighted the betrayal felt by New Hampshire voters when the Biden-Harris campaign skipped the first-in-the-nation primary tradition back in January in favor of South Carolina.
Despite Trump’s loss in New Hampshire in 2020, the campaign remains confident in their chances this time around. With a strong presence in the state, including hundreds of grassroots volunteers and organized events like car and boat parades, the campaign is actively working to secure support.
Leavitt emphasized the negative impact of Harris’ policies, such as worsening the fentanyl crisis and creating an unaffordable housing market in the state, as reasons why Granite Staters would not support her. In light of the close margin in the 2016 election, the campaign sees New Hampshire as a competitive battleground worth fighting for in the upcoming election.
