Former Boston Bruins teammates Brad Marchand and Brandon Carlo will face off on Tuesday night when Marchand’s Florida Panthers take on Carlo’s Toronto Maple Leafs. Marchand, now with the Panthers, jokingly referred to Carlo as a “scumbag” before praising him as a great teammate, competitor, and defenseman.
Carlo, who spent nine seasons with the Bruins before being traded to the Leafs alongside Marchand on March 7, has been a reliable presence on the blue line since his debut in 2016. Despite dealing with concussions, he has played in at least 60 games in eight of his nine NHL seasons.
Marchand’s comments highlight the mutual respect and friendship between the two players, despite now being on different teams. As they face off against each other, fans will be watching to see how they perform against one another after years of playing alongside each other in Boston.
