A Weymouth man, Brendan Mullen, has been arrested for allegedly keying a Tesla Cybertruck at a Hingham charging station in Massachusetts. The incident is part of a broader trend of Tesla vehicles and dealerships being targeted for vandalism across the state and the nation. Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, has been advocating for federal budget cuts. Police responded to the incident after the vehicle’s surveillance system captured Mullen keying the Cybertruck on the passenger side. Mullen turned himself in to police after they identified him from the surveillance footage. The Hingham Police emphasized their commitment to thoroughly investigating cases of intentional property damage. This arrest follows the apprehension of a Saugus man by Peabody Police for defacing Tesla dealership vehicles. The FBI has established a task force to coordinate efforts in investigating attacks on Tesla vehicles and dealerships. Attorney General Pam Bondi has stated that there will be no plea deals for those charged in Tesla attacks, at the directive of the president. The incident underscores the ongoing issue of Tesla vandalism and the efforts being made to address and prosecute those responsible.
