Dighton-Rehoboth’s softball team showed their strength as they defeated powerhouse Walpole with a 5-0 win. The defending Div. 3 state champions showcased their talent with three early runs and solid pitching. Coach Katie Catarius-Holmes expressed excitement about playing tough teams like Walpole to challenge their skills. Isabella Moss and Mia Ribeiro contributed with key hits, while Kylie Smith’s two-run double helped secure the lead. Pitcher Edy LaTour displayed composure in tight situations, retiring 12 of 13 batters between the second and fifth innings. Senior captain Emma Horrocks sealed the victory with a home run in the fifth. LaTour continued her dominant performance, getting out of a tricky sixth inning with two runners on base. The Falcons demonstrated their defensive prowess, shutting down Walpole’s offense and securing the win. This victory solidifies Dighton-Rehoboth as a force to be reckoned with in the softball scene.
