ABC News Suspends Correspondent Following Controversial Remarks
ABC News has suspended senior national correspondent Terry Moran after he made incendiary comments on social media about Stephen Miller, the deputy White House chief of staff, and former President Donald Trump. In a late-night post on X, Moran described Miller as "a man who is richly endowed with the capacity for hatred" and labeled Trump similarly as “a world-class hater.” Although the post was deleted shortly after, screenshots quickly circulated, leading to backlash from Trump’s supporters, including Vice President JD Vance, who condemned Moran’s remarks as "vile."
In a statement, ABC News emphasized its commitment to objectivity and remarked that Moran’s comments did not align with the network’s standards for impartial news coverage. Moran, who joined ABC in 1997 and interviewed Trump in April, did not respond to requests for comment.
This incident follows recent tensions between the media and Trump’s administration, reminding the public of previous controversies, such as ABC’s $16 million settlement over a defamation lawsuit with Trump. Miller, known for his hardline immigration stance, has recently defended federal raids in Los Angeles and criticized protesters.
