Report Indicates Strikes Delay Iran’s Nuclear Program by Several Months

Intelligence Report Disputes Trump’s Claims on Iran’s Nuclear Status

By Michelle L. Price and Mary Clare Jalonick, Associated Press

Washington, D.C. — A newly released report by the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) reveals that Iran’s nuclear program has only been set back a few months following a recent U.S. military strike, contradicting President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s assertions of total destruction. The DIA assessment indicates significant damage occurred at Iran’s nuclear facilities, including the Fordo, Natanz, and Isfahan sites, but crucial infrastructure remains intact, allowing Iran to potentially resume its nuclear activities in the near future.

Sources familiar with the report disclosed that Iran managed to relocate portions of its highly enriched uranium before the attacks, further undermining claims of a definitive blow to its nuclear capabilities. The damage at Fordo is notable, with the entrance collapsed, yet its underground infrastructure remains operational.

The White House responded firmly, labeling the DIA’s findings as a "flat-out wrong" attempt to undermine Trump’s narrative and the military’s operations. Both Trump and Netanyahu have maintained a strong stance, with Netanyahu expressing confidence that Iran’s pathway to nuclear weapons has been severely hindered.

The intelligence community, including the CIA and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, has yet to publicly comment on the DIA’s evaluation.
