Arkansas Authorities Probe Double Homicide at Devil’s Den State Park

Arkansas state police are investigating a double homicide at Devil’s Den State Park after a 43-year-old man and a 41-year-old woman were found dead on a walking trail around 2:40 p.m. on July 26. The case is being treated as a suspected double homicide, and police are actively searching for the suspect, who remains at large.

Governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders expressed her heartbreak over the incident and reassured the public that law enforcement will not cease efforts until the perpetrator is captured. She stated that the government is in close communication with law enforcement and the Department of Parks, Heritage, and Tourism as they work on the case. The governor extended condolences to the victims’ families and friends, sharing that the community is praying for them during this tragic time.

The suspect is described as a white male wearing dark shorts and a dark tank top, as well as weight-lifting-type gloves. Witnesses reported seeing him driving toward the park exit in a black, four-door sedan, possibly a Mazda, with a license plate obscured by tape.

As the investigation progresses, the Arkansas State Crime Lab has been tasked with determining the victims’ causes of death. The police are urging anyone who may have information about the case or the suspect to come forward to assist in the ongoing investigation.
