Colonial militia reenactors commemorated the 250th anniversary of the Revolutionary War by participating in the Boston Marathon on Monday, April 21, 2025. Before the race began, actors dressed as colonial militia members and Paul Revere rode down Boylston Street, with Revere shouting, “The runners are coming!” in reference to his historic midnight ride in 1775. However, the reenactors faced a slight hiccup as Revere’s horse became frightened by the blue finish line decal, causing them to dismount and walk the final steps. Despite this, the event added a unique and historical touch to the marathon, celebrating Patriots Day and honoring the country’s rich history. Participants and spectators enjoyed the reenactment, which brought a sense of patriotism and historical significance to the iconic race. The Boston Marathon continues to be a cherished event that brings together athletes, history buffs, and communities to celebrate American heritage and perseverance.
